How Quickly Can You See Us in a Dental Emergency?
When a dental emergency strikes, every minute counts. At Your Total Dental & Orthodontics, we understand the urgency—and that’s why we reserve dedicated time each day for emergency cases. In most situations, we’re able to offer same-day appointments to relieve pain and begin treatment right away.
If your emergency occurs outside of our regular office hours, you can still reach us through our emergency number for immediate guidance and support.
Your health and comfort are our top priorities, and we’re here to provide fast, compassionate care exactly when you need it most.
What to Do Before Your Emergency Dental Appointment?
- Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss to remove any trapped food. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help ease the discomfort until you’re seen.
- Broken or Chipped Tooth: Save any pieces of the tooth and rinse both your mouth and the fragments with warm water. If there's bleeding, apply gauze to the area to control it.
- Knocked-Out Tooth: Handle the tooth by the crown (top), not the root. Rinse it gently with water—do not scrub. If possible, try to reinsert it into the socket. If not, store it in a container of milk or saliva and bring it to your appointment immediately.
- Lost Filling or Crown: Keep the crown and bring it with you. If you’ve lost a filling, you can temporarily cover the cavity with sugarless gum to protect the area.
- Abscess or Infection: Rinse your mouth with a warm saltwater solution several times a day to help relieve pain and draw out pus. Avoid putting heat or pressure directly on the area.
