Dental Implants

Missing teeth and poorly fitting dentures can lead to insecurity about your smile. Speak with our expert staff to see if dental implants are the right restorative option for you.

What They Are

Dental implants are a popular and efficient, long-term solution to replace missing teeth. Titanium and other compatible materials are used to form a post that is surgically placed in the jawbone and works as a sturdy anchor for natural-looking replacement teeth.

Getting Implants

Typically, there are three phases to getting an implant:

First, the oral surgeon will surgically place the implant(s) into the jawbone. Next, the bone needs to heal and then grow around the implant; this process is called osseointegration. This process is what makes an implant so durable and can take up to several months before it’s finished. Finally, a customized crown will be created based on the size, shape, color, and fit of your original tooth and then will be placed on the implant. When completed, it will meld perfectly with your surrounding teeth.

Uniquely-made bridges or dentures will be made to fit your mouth and your implants if more than one tooth needs to be replaced. For your convenience in eating and speaking, we can offer a temporary replacement until the permanent one is ready.
